ELEMENT 08 OF 08
Magnesium Glycinate
A highly absorbable form of an essential mineral many training diets come up short on.
200 to 400mg of elemental magnesium daily, commonly taken in the evening. Recommended daily intakes for adults sit between 310 and 420mg from all sources.
THE SUBSTANCE
WHAT IT IS
Magnesium is an essential mineral involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions, including muscle contraction and nervous system function. Glycinate is magnesium bound to the amino acid glycine, a chelated form chosen for its absorption and for being gentler on digestion than oxide forms. Dietary surveys consistently show a large share of adults eating below the recommended intake.
THE EVIDENCE
WHAT THE RESEARCH focuses on.
Magnesium research is most focused on sleep quality, muscle function and correcting low dietary intake, with the glycinate form studied for its higher bioavailability. Trials in athletes have looked at whether restoring adequate magnesium supports recovery from training. Evidence is strongest where baseline intake was low to begin with.

STRAIGHT QUESTIONS
Why glycinate instead of cheaper magnesium oxide?
Oxide is poorly absorbed and known mostly for its laxative effect. Glycinate costs more per gram, absorbs better and is far easier on the gut, which is the entire point of paying up for the form.
Why is magnesium in a nighttime formula?
The research most relevant to a stimulant-free evening product is on sleep quality and muscle function, and evening is when most study protocols dose it. It rounds out NIGHTBURN without adding a single stimulant.
